Summary

This three-armed randomised controlled trial compared EMS, whole-body vibration and conventional back-strengthening training in patients with chronic non-specific back pain. The research showed that all three approaches led to a reduction in pain intensity and an increase in trunk strength. Notably, EMS achieved comparable results with a considerably lower time burden on participants. The authors therefore regard EMS as a time-efficient alternative to conventional training for people with chronic back pain.
